Peter Maponya: Group Chairman

Mr. Maponya studied Marketing Management. After which time he worked for over 10 years, in the Information Communications and Technology sector for both Nashua and MTN as a Business Development Manager and Account Executive. Before he formed  Maponya Africa, Mr. Maponya handled a diverse portfolio of both corporate and government clients – providing strategic services across all aspects of the ICT sector.

Through this experience in the corporate sector, Mr. Peter Maponya developed the business acumen that allowed this young entrepreneur to successfully launch several successful, yet diverse business ventures. He has honed his skills at identifying new business opportunities and turning them into profitable and viable enterprises.
As the Group Chairman of Maponya Africa Group, he manages a diverse portfolio of interests.

Black Economic Empowerment

Maponya Africa regards Black Economic Empowerment as a business imperative. Thus, we have designed a deliberate strategy to contribute towards changing the imbalances of the past. The company is committed to its comprehensive Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) strategy, which includes skills development and the promotion of SMMEs through affirmative procurement and capacity building.

Training, education and career development are also important areas. Deliberate efforts are made to continue to procure from other companies owned by black people living with disabilities, black women and black youth.
